“Gulf Women,” a photography series by Nicole Hill, seeks to display “the changing lifestyles of Emirati and Arab women living in the United Arab Emirates.” She describes her work, which she did while as a staff photographer for an Abu Dhabi newspaper, in a Salon.com column. Her work depicts where high fashion collides with traditional values and an expanding world meets a restrictive atmosphere. Salon also has a slideshow of her work, which is both sharp in its message and gorgeous in its delivery.
